Making the most of summer!

by Whitney Scott, BEC Counselor/Advisor

Summer Enrichment Opportunities & Work Experience

Summer provides the perfect opportunity for students to gain real-world work experience, volunteer, and/or participate in enrichment programs. Work experience and summer programs allow students to explore their interests, enhance their strengths, practice valuable skills (independence, self-confidence, communication, teamwork, etc.), and begin to build a professional resume.

Students change and grow with their experiences. Work and enrichment programs can help students explore possible career options. Students can learn about the expectations of various careers, discover what they enjoy (or don’t enjoy!), and narrow down their future career choices. Making the most of summer through work experience or summer enrichment opportunities provide students with a great opportunity for a successful and happy future!
